Monday Jul 17, 2023
Gavin and Stephen are joined in the studio by CRY104FM station manager - Yvonne Smith, who counts down her top 14 favourite songs from her favourite band - Depeche Mode. Gavin and Stephen are not very familiar with the band (even getting where they're from wrong) so it makes for a very interesting listen.

’Sibling Rivalry’ (Episode 6) ’(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’
Monday Jul 10, 2023
Monday Jul 10, 2023
Gavin and Stephen take a trip back memory lane this week as they rate and debate one of their most nostalic albums. An album very near and dear to their hearts - "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" by Oasis. Released in 1995 and containing two chart-topping singles ("Some Might Say" and "Don't Look Back In Anger"), some brilliant album tracks ("She's Electric," "Champagne Supernova," "Cast No Shadow") and possibly the biggest song of the 1990s - "Wonderwall," which only made number 2 in the charts... can you actually believe that? Join the boys and listen to one of the greatest albums of all time.

’Sibling Rivalry’ (Season 3, Episode 5) ’Let It Be’
Monday Jul 03, 2023
Monday Jul 03, 2023
In January 1969 The Beatles entered the studio to record the infamous, fractious, perfectly imperfect album "Let It Be." Originally called "Get Back" and intended to be the band gettin' back to the primal way of recording (live, with no overdubs), but it didn't quite turn out that way, with Phil Spector getting to lather the tapes with syrupy, un-beatley-like strings. Gavin and Stephen have a close listen to "Let It Be... Naked," which was released by Apple in 2003 and is the version of the album which is closer to what The Beatles had originally intended. How will this album fair using the new ranking system? Tune in to find out.

Episode 5 of 'The Musician's Hour with Jo Bell' features Dungarvan legend Joe Power, chatting about his musical influences, his music sessions in Dungarvan, and his new book "Honey Talk Before Strangers." He also performs live in the studio, with musical accompaniment from Richie Power and Kay Wolfe.
Thanks, as always to Stephen O'Leary for his sound engineering skills.

Another edition of the "Reeling in the Years" series as Gav and Steve have a year each to battle it out. Gavin pulled "1989" out of the hat and Stephen pulled out "1995." Two great years for music (and movies) but which one comes out on top? With special guest in the studio, Trevor Crotty, who is the judge for a few of the tracks.
